Salams everyones!

Its been a week or two since I blog. So you guys must been wondering how i did for my O levels right? Its non the less disappointing but I can't blame no one for it cause I myself didn't study well for it. I failed my maths but passed my combined humanities. Syukur Alhamdullilah! Lots of things happened this week, my dad's car back glass got smashed. Police came and told us about the incident. Mom called me up to informed about the case as I was not at home. Came back and clear the broken glasses off the car and tape up the part with black trash bag. The car was about to celebrate its first year birthday in a months time but some morons just have to damage the car. The whole thing just got worst on the day my dad sent it for replacement. The company needed a copy of a police report and insurance policy form to be handed in. The police officer who took our case didn't issue us any police report but merely a piece of card that refers to the case. So my dad came back and I called the Jurong Devision HQ to get a copy. I was referred to a few contacts before I could get through to the department that prints out the record of police reports. This department insist us of paying $30 for a police report. I was pissed off,so i called my uncle, who is a CID officer and told him about the situation. So withing minutes things got solved. Thanks to my uncle! Received the car back yesterday and it looks as good as new. I still believe that what goes around comes around, so for the person who smashed my dad's car I'm sure if you have a vehicle someone will get back at it.

The Second part of this post will be publish in malay language. InsyaAllah. For your info, 19 January 2008 was a day to remember. It’s the birthday of my two friends. They are Iqbal and Sheri. It was also10 Muharram in the Islamic calendar, which is a very grand day. It’s a prestigious day as there were many histories being made in this date through out the years. For those who are keen do read the stories and also the paragraph on ‘Sejarah Asyura’ which is in malay text. I actually got it from the net, and those who don’t understand, you guys can get back to me and I might email you back in English. MasyaAllah, this is also my first post since both the Islamic 1429 hijrah and Current 2008 new year. It’s been a splendid week. Packed with school project. Completed nearly 80% of all projects. Collected both A’s for my BCM role-play and oral presentation. Bob and I work hard to achieve these results. Results of last years O level will be out either this or next week. Feeling anxious as to what I might get. What ever happens, I’m prepared for it, as there is a malay saying goes “tawakal dan redha”, which means depend on your lord for the best of it and if the results is not up to your expectation just be happy with it. I shall blog more when I have the time, for now I shall end this rant with salams.

Hari Asyura merupakan salah satu hari yang diraikan oleh umat Islam. Asyura berasal daripada perkataan Arab asyara yang bermaksud sepuluh. Ini disebabkan hari Asyura adalah hari yang kesepuluh di dalam kalendar Islam iaitu 10 Muharram.

Mengikut masyarakat Islam, hari Asyura telah menyaksikan banyak sejarah besar dan keajaiban berlaku ke atas para nabi. Disebabkan itu, masyarakat Islam menghormati hari tersebut seperti juga yang diamalkan oleh Muhammad s.a.w.

Sejarah Asyura

Menurut tradisi masyrakat Islam, Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. telahpun melakukan puasa Asyura sejak di Makkah lagi memandangkang puasa Asyura adalah amalan biasa masyarakat tempatan. Apabila baginda berhijrah ke Madinah, baginda turut mendapati yang kaum Yahudi turut berpuasa pada hari Asyura (atau bagi mereka adalah Yom Kippur yang juga pada hari kesepuluh). Ketika itu, Baginda mengesahkan dan mensyariatkan puasa sehingga ia menjadi satu kewajiban kerana baginda merasakan masyarakat Islam lebih dekat dengan Nabi Musa. Ibn Hajar al-asqalani, dalam pernyataannya terhadap sahih Bukhari mengatakan yang syariat puasa telah dijadikan kepada bulan Ramadhan setahun kemudian. Kini, masyarakat Islam melakukan puasa pada 10 Muharram sebagai amalan sunat dan bukan kewajiban.

Masyarakat Islam turut percaya akan berlakunya kejadian besar ketika 10 Muharram:

• Hari pertama Allah menciptakan alam.
• Hari Pertama Allah menurunkan rahmat.
• Hari pertama Allah menurunkan hujan.
• Allah menjadikan 'Arasy.
• Allah menjadikan Luh Mahfuz.
• Allah menjadikan alam.
• Allah menjadikan Malaikat Jibril.
• Nabi Adam a.s. dicipta.
• Diampunkan dosa Nabi Adam a.s. setelah bertahun-tahun memohon keampunan kerana melanggar larangan Allah.
• Nabi Idris a.s. diangkat darjatnya oleh Allah dan Malaikat Izrail membawanya ke langit.
• Diselamatkan Nabi Nuh a.s. dan pengikutnya dari banjir besar selama enam bulan dan bahtera baginda selamat berlabuh di puncak pergunungan.
• Nabi Ibrahim a.s. dilahirkan di kawasan pedalaman dan terselamat dari buruan Raja Namrud.
• Nabi Ibrahim a.s. diselamatkan Allah dari api Raja Namrud.
• Nabi Yusuf a.s. dibebaskan dari penjara setelah meringkuk di dalamnya selama tujuh tahun.
• Nabi Yaakub a.s. telah sembuh buta matanya ketika kepulangan anaknya Yusuf di hari tersebut.
• Nabi Ayub a.s. disembuhkan dari penyakitnya.
• Nabi Musa a.s. telah diselamatkan daripada tentera Firaun dan berlakunya kejadian terbelahnya Laut Merah.
• Allah menurunkan kitab Taurat kepada Nabi Musa a.s.
• Nabi Yunus a.s. selamat keluar dari perut ikan paus setelah berada di dalamnya selama 40 hari 40 malam.
• Kesalahan Nabi Daud a.s. diampuni Allah.
• Nabi Sulaiman a.s. dikurniakan Allah kerajaan yang besar.
• Nabi Isa a.s. diangkat ke syurga ketika diburu oleh tentera Rom untuk menyalib baginda.
• Saidina Hussein ibni Ali telah syahid akibat dibunuh dengan kejam di Karbala oleh tentera khalifa Bani Umaiyyah iaitu Khalifah Yazid.

Demikianlah sedikit sebanyak tentang sejarah hari Asyura.
